Sounds of the Big Bands in Johns Creek!

Johns Creek Symphony Presents Sounds of the Big Bands on May 13th, Johns Creek United Methodist Church.

Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra Brings Big Bands to the Creek!

If you want to experience a truly unique concert right here in Johns Creek, then you must attend Sounds of the Big Bands on May 13th at Johns Creek United Methodist Church. Imagine, not one big band but two! Yes, two big bands for your listening pleasure. What a wonderful way for the JCSO to conclude Season Ten. We are excited to present Joe Gransden’s Big Band as well as the Georgia State University Jazz Band, conducted by Dr. Gordon Vernick. Gransden’s Big Band performs regularly in the Atlanta Metro, and has even had guest appearances at the famous Blue Note in New York City. Joe is himself a recording artist, performer, and jazz trumpeter, and brings that exceptional talent to his big band performances. The GSU Jazz Band represents some of the finest young talent in all of the southeast. They regularly perform at the Rialto Theater in Atlanta with some of the legends of jazz as guest artists. And, if that wasn't enough, we are excited to announce that also performing will be the legendary jazz singer Carmen Bradford! Ms. Bradford sang with Count Basie for nine years, and has since performed or recorded with the likes of Wynton Marsalis, Nancy Wilson, Tony Bennett, Patti Austin, George Benson, and Lena Horne, just to name a few. Her body of work reflects the vast depth of musical experience she brings to this incredible art form.

What do you think? Can you imagine yourself sitting in the audience enjoying some of the great music of our time? Enjoy the performances of these exceptionally talented bands culminating in what is sure to be an outstanding concert finale. This performance will be made all the more special by your presence, so please consider attending the JCSO Season Ten Finale Concert.
