Chattahoochee Student To Attend U.S. Air Force Academy

Chattahoochee High School's Chris Spaid will play soccer at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.

JOHNS CREEK, GA — Chattahoochee High School’s Christopher Spaid has committed to play soccer for the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. Spaid hopes to continue a winning tradition he has enjoyed while at Chattahoochee.

The USAFA Falcons were ranked 12th in the nation last year with a record of 14-3-3, second in the Western Athletic Conference and got a berth to the NCAA tournament.

Christopher is a four-year varsity letterman and current captain for the Cougars. During his time at Chattahoochee under the leadership of Coach Les Meenan and Eduardo Coloma, the Cougars navigated the toughest conference in Georgia with a remarkable record of 33-1-0 in conference, won three straight Region Championships, culminating in a State Championship title last season.

Spaid is a three-time 1st Team All-Region Defender of the year recipient and 6A Player of the Year awarded by DiVarsity Soccer last year.

Prior to joining Atlanta Fire United where Spaid played club soccer in the inaugural season of boy’s ECNL league, his Alpharetta Ambush team was a Georgia State Cup Finalist last season. Chris played under coach Everett Webb at both clubs, who has a record of coaching teams that compete at the highest levels of youth soccer.
