State Bridge Crossing Educator Named Art Elementary Teacher of the Year
Allison Elder was given the honor on Oct. 4 at the Georgia Art Education Association's conference in Macon.

Allison Elder, art teacher at State Bridge Crossing Elementary School in Johns Creek, was named 2014 Georgia Art Education Association Elementary Teacher of the Year.
Elder received the honor from the association at its state conference for art educators in Macon on Oct 4, the school said in a press release.
The four-day fall conference included artist talks, hands-on workshops and educational sessions.

Elder is from Alpharetta and holds a master’s degree in art education from Georgia State University. She is inspired by her mother and mother-in-law, both educators, “who she admires for their dedication and work ethic,” State Bridge Crossing Elementary said in the press release.
“Elder is well known for her positive attitude, her art education blog and her expertise with using technology and new techniques in the classroom,” the school added.

She was also named Teacher of the Year in the spring.
