Summit Seeks To Forge Partnerships With Schools, Faith Community
The Fulton County School System's fifth annual Faith Summit will be held Tuesday, June 27.

ATLANTA, GA -- The Fulton County School System will host its fifth annual Faith Summit in an effort to build partnerships between schools and leaders of local houses of worship.
The summit will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 27 at Buckhead Church, and leaders of various religious institutions are invited to a morning of collaborative discussion with Superintendent Jeff Rose, school principals and other district leaders.
The free event will provide information and resources that encourage creation of partnerships that improve student achievement, increase community support of schools and support the district’s goals. Participants will learn practical ways to offer assistance and provide resources that benefit both schools and houses of worship.

In addition to continuing a critical conversation about how houses of worship can be supporters for schools, faith leaders will learn how their congregations can commit time or start service projects, such as creating food pantries, mentoring programs, or clothing drives for families in need. Breakout sessions organized by the system's Learning Communities will help pair faith houses with the schools in their geographic area so they can start a dialogue specific to their needs.
Buckhead Church is located at 3336 Peachtree Road NE in Atlanta. While the event starts at 10 a.m., check-in and networking kicks off at 9:30 a.m. Registration is ongoing and can be done online.
