Ted’s Montana Grill was co-founded in 2002 by Ted Turner, the media entrepreneur, environmentalist and philanthropist, and award-winning restaurateur, George W. McKerrow. Headquartered in Atlanta, the company now has 46 locations across the country.
“We were drawn to Avalon for our newest location because it’s going to be a hub for the community to eat, shop, work and play,” said McKerrow, who serves as the company’s CEO. “Our Big Sky Spirit, which welcomes our guests with authentic American dining andgenuine hospitality, is a natural fit for Avalon’s attention to detail and amenities.”

Proprietor Jeff Hormel will lead a staff of 65 at the new restaurant.
“Our Avalon location is the first LEED-registered project for the company,” Hormel added. “Sustainability is ingrained in nearly every aspect of our restaurant.”
Ted’s Montana Grill will incorporate many eco-friendly technologies and practices as it does in its other locations, from low-voltage, LED light bulbs to menus printed on recycled paper.
Environmentally friendly restaurant products include paper straws, wooden drink stirrers, cornstarch to-go cups, recycled coasters and biodegradable to-go cutlery.
Kitchen staff follow specific “fire up/fire down” guidelines to save on electricity, use energy-saving equipment and utilize griddle cook tops that lower the level of grease particulates released into the air. Restrooms will feature water-efficient fixtures and biodegradable powder Boraxo soap.
Ted’s Montana Grill serves time-honored favorites in a relaxed setting reminiscent of the 19th century American frontier. The design of the Avalon location is inspired by old western saloons, with all the romance and classic touches that make it feel luxurious, but in a casual, warm way.
Ted’s Montana Grill at Avalon is located at 6100 Avalon Boulevard in Alpharetta and its phone number will be 678-710-9025.
The restaurant is open Sunday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
