There is nothing like Spirits on Halloween….. The kids can’t have all the Fun.
Why not raid their Halloween bags and pair some adult bevs with a treat? I personally believe it makes the candy taste better.Milky Ways are usually my least favorite of the bunch but the thought of pairing it with Makers Mark, not only has a ring to it. But, the sweetness from the bourbon compliments the Milky Way’s rich filling…. Yum.Or, you can try to some Rye whisky that has a spicy bite to the candy bag staple Reese’s Butter Cups. The spiciness of the Rye compliments the chocolate and peanut butter combination. Don’t just save your Hershey's bars for s'mores. Hershey bars (especially the mini ones) taste tastier with Cruzan Black Strap Rum. The spicy, molasses-laced flavor of the Cruzan brings out the flavors of the chocolate. What could be better than booze and chocolate bars?
Twix are some of my favorites. You can pair it with a good bourbon or aged rum—and both taste delish with the buttery shortbread part of the Twix. However, the best pairing for this treat is Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur, which matches the sweetness of the Twix and adds spicy ginger to the equation. The combination may feel a little festive; so remember this pairing the holiday season draws near.
Of course, there a lot more candy selections in your Halloween-night bag. What would you pair with candy corn? What about a Snickers bar? Remember, what you don’t pair you can always use to infuse flavors in your favorite Spirit.
