Elderly Couple Killed During Police Chase Out of Johns Creek
A father and son are charged in connection to the fatal crash Thursday evening on Peachtree Parkway at Jay Bird Alley.

Peachtree Corners, GA -- A Norcross husband and wife were killed in a Gwinnett County crash Thursday evening during a police chase originating in Johns Creek.

The Gwinnett County Police Department is investigating the double fatality, which occurred around 10:30 p.m. Jan. 28 at the intersection of S.R. 141/Peachtree Parkway and Jay Bird Alley.
The chase started when the suspect’s vehicle was traveling southbound on Medlock Bridge Road/S.R. 141 -- which turns into Peachtree Parkway in Gwinnett -- when it failed to yield to Johns Creek police, the Gwinnett County Police Department said in its news release.

The chase crossed over into Peachtree Corners and as the car approached Peachtree Parkway’s intersection with Jay Bird Alley, it crashed into another vehicle, killing both the driver and passenger inside in the second car.
The couple identified in the crash were Kyzysztof Krawczynski, 77, and Elzbieta Gurtler-Krawczynska, 78, both of Norcross.
The driver and passenger of the car involved in the chase are father and son, 47-year-old Larry Thomas and Jesse Thomas, 18, both of Tennessee.
The elder Thomas has been charged with two counts of vehicular homicide, serious injury for the passenger of his vehicle, DUI less safe, fleeing/attempting to elude a police officer, reckless driving, speeding, failure to maintain lane, failure to obey a traffic control device, crossing a gore, trafficking meth, trafficking morphine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of cocaine, possession of LSD and possession of a gun during the commission of a felony.
Jesse Thomas is charged with trafficking meth, trafficking morphine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of LSD, possession of cocaine, possession of a gun during the commission of a felony.
