Veterans To Be Honored By Perimeter School

The ceremony will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 11 at the facility on Medlock Bridge Road in Johns Creek.

Perimeter School will host their 21st annual Veterans Day program on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015, honoring all Veterans of the Armed Forces.

This year marks two notable anniversaries in American military history. It is the 50th anniversary of American involvement in the Vietnam War, and is the 40th anniversary of the collapse of South Vietnam. The speaker will be Sgt. Roger Helle of the US Marine Corps (Ret.) who served three tours of duty in the Vietnam War. He was wounded three times and has been decorated a number of times for bravery. Like many combat veterans, Roger struggled with nightmares in his post-war years.

The Perimeter Veterans Day Program is a community event, open to the public. The purpose of this program is to honor and celebrate the service and sacrifice of our American Veterans, as well as to provide a legacy of honor and history for students and the people in their greater Atlanta community. Last year, over 2,400 people attended the program with more than 230 veterans from all branches of the military.
