What's Open, Closed For New Year's in North Fulton?

Here's what you need to know as 2016 comes to a close.

Just like the Christmas holidays, government business will come to a halt early next week in observance of New Year's Day.

Specifically, the cities of Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Milton, Roswell and Sandy Springs will all be closed on Monday, Jan. 2, 2017 for the holiday.

Fulton County's government offices will also be closed on Monday for the holiday. Citizens should expect the aforementioned agencies will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, Jan. 3.

Roswell and Alpharetta residents will see no change in their residential waste collection services. Milton, Johns Creek and Sandy Springs residents should check with their garbage collection service providers for their respective holiday schedules.

The Fulton County School System's offices closed Dec. 23 and will be remain shuttered through Jan. 4, 2017.

Administrative offices and schools will re-open Jan. 5, with teacher workdays planned for Jan. 5-6. Classes resume for second semester on Jan. 9.

Patrons of the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System should note its branches will also close at 6 p.m. Dec. 31 and will remain closed Jan. 1-2. Library branches will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 3.
