Winter Weather on the Way
An inch of snow is possible; motorists are advised to use caution during morning commute.

As the National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for North Georgia in effect until noon Thursday, the Johns Creek Public Works crew is monitoring streets and is set to begin pretreating roads and bridges at 10 tonight.
Meanwhile, the Georgia Department of Transportation is advising motorists that hazardous driving conditions could develop overnight north of a line from Columbus to Macon to Augusta.
The winter weather system is expected to begin as rain and then change to snow, possibly continuing until mid-morning on Thursday. An inch of snow is possible in the Johns Creek area.

Motorists are advised to remain cautious during the Thursday morning commute, especially before sunrise when temperatures are expected to be below freezing. However, conditions should improve rapidly Thursday as temperatures will reach into the mid-40s in the early afternoon and the sun comes out.
The DOT will use extra manpower from other areas of the state to assist in clearing affected roadways.
