Woman Accused of Firing Gun Into Ex-Boyfriend's Johns Creek Home
Renee L. McClendon also barricaded herself inside the home, which forced police to call in North Metro SWAT for assistance.

A woman has been arrested and charged in connection to firing a handgun into the home of her ex-boyfriend in Johns Creek.
Johns Creek police on Nov. 17 arrested Renee L. McClendon, 50, of Taylorsville, and charged her with aggravated assault, burglary and theft by receiving, spokesperson Capt. Chris Byers said.
Around 2 a.m. Monday, 911 dispatchers received a call from a man at a home on Brunson Drive, who said his ex-girlfriend broke into his house armed with a hand gun.

Byers said the man, who has not had any contact with the woman, told police the woman initially rang his doorbell and went around to the rear door of the house. The homeowner said the woman saw him through the back door and allegedly fired the handgun through the door.
The man was able to escape just as the woman was able to gain entry through the rear door, Byers said.

Officers made multiple commands for McClendon to come out of the house, but she did not comply with those orders.
“Since she was inside the home, barricaded and armed, we activated the SWAT team,” Byers added.
Around the time SWAT members began to position themselves around the home, Byers said McClendon came outside of the house in an attempt to get to her vehicle parked near the home. McClendon was immediately apprehended and taken into custody.
Byers noted the theft by receiving charge stems from the woman using a handgun that was reported stolen out of Bartow County.
