Zaprowski Qualifies To Seek Re-Election To Johns Creek City Council
Dr. Lenny Zaprowski pledges this campaign will be his last, and that he will vote in favor of term limits.
JOHNS CREEK, GA -- Dr. Lenny Zaprowski has qualified to seek a second, four-year term to the Post 1 seat on the Johns Creek City Council. Zaprowski notes the 2017 campaign will be his last and he pledges to vote in favor of term limits.
“When I decided to run four years ago, the city council was in disarray," he said. "Since then, we’ve managed to improve relationships among ourselves and with our sister cities. I’ve strived to always be available for (sic)
our citizens and listen to their concerns."
Zaprowski also said he pledged to be an independent voice, promote fiscal conservatism and transparency, and to listen to voters while encouraging their involvement in the city (SIGN UP: Get Patch's Daily Newsletter and Real Time News Alerts. Or, if you have an iPhone, download the free Patch app).

"I believe I have lived up to these promises and I’m willing to continue this legacy," he said.
While on the Council, Zaprowski said he and his colleagues have lowered the millage rate, reduced operating expenses by more than $1 million over the last two years, worked to livestream City Council meetings online, introduce the Open Checkbook initiative so residents can review financial transactions and purchased roughly 200 acres of park land and greenspace.

Other items of note include repaving neighborhood streets, developed a 10-year financial plan and working to keep Johns Creek's status as the safest place to live.
Of course, the elephant in the room is the city's traffic congestion. With that in mind, Zaprowski said he will ensure all TSPLOST funds coming into the city's coffers will be used to provide relief "that works best for our citizens."
"As your councilman, I’ve listened to your concerns and suggestions and will always be available," he said. "I have remained an independent, honest voice on council and will continue to do so. We have accomplished so
much, but there is more to do. I want to work for all of you, the citizens of our exceptional city."
