A Cobb County program that certifies residents in disaster response techniques is looking for more trainees for upcoming classes.

Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training will begin on July 7 and will teach Cobb residents the skills they need to handle emergency situations in their areas and to be an asset to first responders.

Classes will be held on July 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, and 22 from 6 to 9 p.m.; students must attend every session to become certified. The classes will be held at the Cobb County Emergency Operations Center at 140 North Marietta Pkwy. in Marietta.
