According to CBS Atlanta, the federal government could opt to close Dobbins Air Reserve Base during the next fiscal year, which begins in October. The closure would be one of many expenditure-related decisions that are now necessary as the country scales back from over a decade of active military engagements.

The president of the Cobb County Chamber of Commerce has been stumping for the base for the last two years, but tells CBS Atlanta that lawmakers are not playing favorites and a closure is entirely possible in the new fiscal year.
