Dream Come True for Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue and Adoptions, Inc.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue takes over 8,100 sq. ft. animal shelter in Kennesaw

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue has just signed the paperwork to acquire 3238 Cherokee Street in Kennesaw, a state of the art facility specifically designed for rescue. “We feel like we have won the lottery and are extremely grateful for this opportunity. Now we don’t have to use our time and energy making renovations to our former facility and can instead jump right to expanding our impact in the community” said Tammy Turley, Executive Director.

Anne Reed, the building’s former owner, is someone who cares very deeply about the welfare of abandoned animals. She had only one objective – help save as many homeless animals as possible. After researching various area rescue groups, she determined that Mostly Mutts was the right one to take over this first rate facility. Anne Reed said “Mostly Mutts is an amazing rescue organization and I’m confident this shelter will enable them to save so many more animals.”

The first thing Mostly Mutts will do is increase its volunteer base and foster family roster. As they accomplish that, the numbers of animals they can help will increase as well. If you love animals and would like to get involved, please email shelter@mostlymutts.org. Mostly Mutts had 463 successful adoptions in 2015 and believes it can exceed that number in 2016. The entire Mostly Mutts “family” could not be more excited. The possibilities in the new shelter are endless...Spay/Neuter Clinics, Shot Clinics (done with the help of their vets), more community outreach and educational programs for kids and groups.

The warehouse in Acworth purchased by Mostly Mutts in August 2015, is now being marketed for sale. Inquiries can be directed to tammy@mostlymutts.org.

Mostly Mutts strives to reduce the number of animals euthanized at local shelters in Metro Atlanta by working with animal control officers to save adoptable dogs that are moments away from being put to sleep. Often, these dogs are sick, injured and require rehabilitation. Mostly Mutts provides housing, health care, training, and physical and emotional care to these rescued animals until they can be placed in a new “fur-ever home.” Since 2004, Mostly Mutts has saved approximately 5,000 animals.
