Ex-KSU Professor Indicted On Pipe Bomb Charges
Brent Christopher Allsup is accused of putting a pipe bomb in a stolen vehicle.

MARIETTA, GA -- A former Kennesaw State University professor who was already facing drug charges is now in more legal trouble. Brent Christopher Allsup has been indicted on charges that allege he put a pipe bomb in a stolen car. The bomb's discovery caused an Acworth neighborhood to be evacuated back on July 11, when Cobb deputies showed up at Allsup's home to arrest him on warrants of theft and making false statements.
Allsup told the deputies there was a pipe bomb in a Chevy Tahoe he had allegedly stolen from his former employer, Quikrete. The bomb's discovery caused the evacuation of Allsup's Acworth neighborhood.
In October 2017, Allsup was found passed out at KSU’s student center. Allsup gave police permission to search his car, where they found a half-empty 16-oz. bottle of beer, along with hydrocodone pills; amphetamine salts and a Xanax bar, all of which are regulated under Georgia's controlled substance laws.
