Friday Preview: Region 4-AAAAA Play Heats Up

Hillgrove (8-0, 5-0) at Kennesaw Mountain (0-8, 0-5) – The last thing any winless teams wants to see is one of the state’s powerhouse teams on the schedule. That’s ’s conundrum tonight when it tries to find a way to upset Hillgrove. No team scores fewer points in Region 4-AAAAA play than the Mustangs, and the Hawks allow only a stingy 11 points per game to opposing teams each week.

South Cobb (6-2, 3-2) at North Cobb (3-5, 2-3) – With a little help from Campbell tonight (Pebblebrook’s opponent) could sneak back into postseason contention with a win over South Cobb. The Warriors have lost three-straight games and can’t afford to lost any more.

McEachern (7-1, 4-1) at Harrison (3-5, 2-3) – For the first time this season, is on a winning streak, a two-game streak. With wins over Kennesaw Mountain and Campbell over the last two weeks the Hoyas now must upset McEachern to keep that streak going. McEachern has averaged 54 points per game after losing to Hillgrove and looks like a team with something to prove.

North Cobb Christian (1-8, 1-1) at Georgia Military (5-3, 1-0) – has lost eight games in a row after winning its opener. Twice in the last four weeks the Eagles have mustered just six points in a game and opponents are scoring just under 53 points a game against them, on average.
