Adopt a Golden Atlanta brought 15 pups from overseas to Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport on Sunday and is looking to find them new homes with loving families in Georgia. The organization tells WSB-TV that they’re limiting the scope of the adoptions because the dogs have already traveled so many miles.

“These 11 boys and 4 girls will be fostered by our awesome team of volunteers, saving us money on boarding expenses,” Adopt a Golden wrote in a recent newlsetter. “But, yes, we will need more financial support from our dedicated friends and their friends. We ask that you please visit the donation page on our website and share what you can to help support these and other orphans. Without your donations, we would be unable to care for these dogs in their most desperate times of need.”

The group recently rescued 36 goldens from Turkey, where the dog has fallen out of favor as a status symbol. No longer considered luxuries, the dogs are left abandoned across the country, CBS Atlanta says.
