Harrison Falls in State Final

The Hoyas couldn't penetrate a stingy Walton defense in Saturday's 5A Lacrosse Championship.

Defense is a mantra that many coaches repeat many times to their defensive units.

In the GHSA 5A Boys Lacrosse Championship game at , the got an outstanding performance in the cage from goalie Michael Harper, while the remaining members of the Raider squad played a tough, gritty defense that shut down the Harrison offense for three quarters.

Defense was the name of the game from the first face-off, with neither team able to put any points on the board in the first quarter. But the Raiders put up five goals in the second quarter to take a 5-0 lead into halftime.

The Hoyas' first score came early in the fourth quarter, as Regan Farmer fired a shot from the top of the box. Harrison mounted a comeback late, scoring three of the games final four goals, but the Hoyas eventually fell to the Raiders, 8-4.
