Harrison Wins Regional Marching Band Championship
Harrison was one of five bands from Cobb county, GA to compete at the event.

From Harrison HS: The Harrison High School Marching Band from Kennesaw GA was recently awarded the title of Regional Champion at the Bands of America regional marching band championships held at Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, AL. In the Class 3A category preliminary round, Harrison won Outstanding Music Performance, Outstanding General Effect and First Place overall in their class. In the evening finals competition, Harrison won Outstanding General Effect and tied to win Outstanding Music Performance. The apex of the evening was Harrison being awarded the highest honor of the competition and being named Regional Grand Champion.
“This is an outstanding honor for our students!” said Joshua Ray, Director of Bands at Harrison High School. “The awards are terrific validation for their hard work and commitment to excellence. We are very proud of how they represent our school, county and the state of Georgia.”
The Bands of America Championship in Jacksonville featured 21 high school marching bands in the preliminary competition, evaluated by a panel of nationally-recognized music educators and marching band experts. The top 11 bands advanced to the evening finals competition. Harrison was one of five bands from Cobb county, GA to compete at the event. Other Cobb bands included Allatoona High School, Hillgrove High
School, Kennesaw Mountain High School, and Walton High School. The Championship
was hosted by The Marching Southerners of Jacksonville State University, who performed in exhibition at the conclusion of the preliminary competition.

The Bands of America Championship in Jacksonville is a celebration of music education at its finest, showcasing the excellence, teamwork, and student leadership of the region’s outstanding marching bands. These young performers and their achievements advocate for the importance of music education in schools locally and nationwide.
Presented by Music for All across the country, Bands of America regional marching band championships offer positively life-changing experiences for students, teachers, and fans and spectators. The season ends with the Bands of America Grand National Championships, presented by Yamaha, in Indianapolis, Indiana in November. A non- profit 501(c)3 educational organization, Music for All has been creating, providing, and expanding positively life-changing experiences through music for all with more than 30 annual events for scholastic bands, orchestras, and choirs, nationwide.
