ICYMI: High School Teacher Suspended for Inappropriate Contact With Student

A Cobb County high school teacher may be out of the classroom for a while once the state’s Professional Standards Commission wraps up an investigation into allegations that she got too close to one of her students.

WSB-TV reports that the teacher and coach at Allatoona High School in Acworth is accused of letting a female student touch her on the breasts before a competitive event. The teacher is also accused of allowing that same student to sleep on top of her during a bus trip.

The teacher was initially suspended for one day, but the Professional Standards Commission could suspend her for up to a year if they find the allegations to be true. The commission reviewed the incident yesterday, but the minutes of the meeting have not yet been released.
