Kennesaw House Shooter Sentenced to Prison

The shooting was an attack on a gang member who wished to leave the organization.

An Acworth man who pleaded guilty to opening fire at a Kennesaw home in early 2014 has received prison time for the crime, the Cobb County District Attorney’s Office announced Tuesday.

Alexander Market, 19, pleaded guilty to three counts of violating Georgia’s Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act on Monday. Following his plea, Market was sentenced to 20 years, with 15 years to be spent in prison and the rest to be spent on probation.

On Jan. 12, 2014, Market and four other gang members fired several shots at the home in the Legacy Park subdivision as retaliation against a member of the Piru Bloods street gang who wanted to leave the life.
