Shawnston Beaudoin, 31, was originally investigated by the FBI for collecting and distributing child pornography in February 2014, the Attorney’s Office said. Agents executed a raid against his home and property in March of that year, after which Beaudoin admitted possessing the images but denying he had ever had inappropriate contact with a child.

Beaudoin volunteered to take a lie detector test, but was caught being deceptive in some of his answers. At this point, the Atorney’s Office says, Beaudoin admitted he had produced pornographic images of children himself. Computer forensic technicians discovered he had produced images involving three different children between 2005 and 2013.

“Producing child pornography is an unspeakable crime,” said Acting U.S. Attorney John Horn in a statement. “Beaudoin preyed on the vulnerable and innocent of our society for his own personal pleasure. This office’s Project Safe Childhood program is dedicated to searching out and prosecuting anyone who victimizes children to contribute to the child pornography market.”

“Those who collect and distribute child pornography victimize and exploit the children in those images again with each re-distribution. To have an individual such as Mr. Beaudoin, who was actually producing child pornography, off of our streets is a major step toward protecting our community’s children from those who would prey on them,” said J. Britt Johnson, Special Agent in Charge, FBI Atlanta Field Office in a statement.

Beaudoin pleaded guilty to producing child pornography in March of this year and was sentenced on Monday to 22 years in federal prison and life on parole.
