Kennesaw Woman Dies in Tuesday Morning Fire

Five other people in the home were able to escape the blaze.

A Kennesaw woman has died as a result of a fire that broke out inside her home on Tuesday morning, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

According to the station, the fire at the home on Ben King Road began at approximately 4:30 a.m. Five other people inside the home, including four of the deceased woman’s family members, managed to get out of the flames safely.

It took Cobb County fire crews around an hour to put out the blaze, the AJC said. Crews were still on the scene watching for hot spots at 8:30 a.m.

Investigators suspect that the fire started in the deceased woman’s bedroom; the fire was strongest in that part of the home, and flames burned through the roof over that area.
