KSU Holds 116th Commencement
Tuesday, Kennesaw State University held commencement ceremonies for fall 2010 graduates; another ceremony will be held today.
Tuesday, friends, family and faculty gathered in the Convocation Center at for the school's 116th commencement.
Dr. Daniel S. Papp, President, asked fall 2010 graduates questions ranging from how many had held two jobs while in school, to how many were parents, to how many were serving in the military.
"Our students do more than just study here," Papp said.

Several students stood up when he asked whether they were tweeting during the ceremony, which drew laughter from the crowd. Papp did not ask how many of the newest alumni were walking away from campus with jobs.
The guest speaker for the 1 p.m. ceremony was Dr. Susan Herbst, executive vice chancellor for the University System of Georgia and professor of public policy at Georgia Tech. Her research focuses on public opinion.

Her remarks stemmed from the teachings of German sociologist, Max Weber, and his work on the "Iron Cage," a study that claims rationalism can lead to a loss of humanity in capitalist societies.
Herbst warned graduates not to become "cogs in a wheel" or fall prey to letting technological efficiency trump being human.
A 7 p.m. commencement ceremony was also held, while students of the Coles College of Business, College of Science and Mathematics and University College will graduate this afternoon at 1.
