KSU Launches New Lean Six Sigma Program

Courses teach proven business management strategy

The College of Continuing and Professional Education has introduced two new Lean Six Sigma programs – Yellow Belt and Green Belt. The classroom-based courses are slated to begin Feb. 26 and March 2.

Lean Six Sigma is considered the most popular business performance methodology in corporate development. Students will learn to properly implement this proven business management strategy to help their organization operate more efficiently.

The two-day Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt program is designed to introduce the concepts of Lean and Six Sigma, including the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control (DMAIC) model as the three-day Green Belt course serves as an extension of the Yellow Belt class. Students must successfully complete both the Yellow and Green Belt courses to earn a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate.

Both courses are instructed by Bill Bailey, who holds a Ph.D. in Technology Management - Quality Systems Specialization. He is an ASQ certified Six Sigma Black Belt, with more than 30 years of industry experience. He has served as an examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and senior examiner, team leader and trainer for the Georgia Oglethorpe Award Process.
