KSU PayTrain Program Helps Professionals Earn Certifications

KSU’s most recent PayTrain® Fundamentals graduates boasted a 100% pass rate on the Certified Payroll Professional and Fundamental Payroll Certification exams. The second offering of Fundamentals course begins Jan. 15, and PayTrain® Mastery begins Jan. 13. Both courses are offered through KSU’s College of Continuing and Professional Education.

Jennifer Henderson, program manager, said, “We are proud to see our graduates not only passing the Fundamentals course but also experiencing immediate advancements in the workplace as a result of passing the certification exams.” Recent graduate Sharon Norman said, “I passed the class and the certification exam. As soon as I added those certification letters to the end of my name, I immediately had employers calling me for interviews. I started a new job in October (2014). This program has definitely helped my career progress.”

Both PayTrain® Fundamentals and Mastery courses comprise the Payroll Professional Certificate and are designed for all levels of payroll administrators and those who support the payroll industry. KSU offers this course in partnership with the American Payroll Association. Learning objectives include payroll concepts, paycheck calculations, management and administration.
