According to the Cobb Business Journal, the Physics Teacher Education Coalition (PhysTEC) named KSU one of only 11 schools which graduated more than five physics teachers in the previous school year. PhysTEC also funds physics departments in colleges and universities across the country in an effort to produce more qualified physics teachers.

KSU’s program was singled out because of its efforts to not only teach physics, but also teaches students how to teach physics to their future students. According to the CBJ, other science teaching programs are more generalized and do not have a specific focus on physics, unlike the KSU program.
