KSU To Serve as COVID Vaccine Site for Faculty, Staff and Students

The Georgia Department of Public Health has designated Kennesaw State University as
a distribution site to provide vaccinations directly for all students, faculty, and
staff during spring and summer semesters of 2021. KSU will partner with Wellstar Health
Systems to provide vaccinations to our campus population.

KSU and Wellstar have been working throughout the holiday break to plan for the logistics
of administering this vaccine in a safe and efficient manner. We will be dependent
on much that will simply be out of our direct control so we ask for your patience
as we roll out vaccine administration. We are committed, however, to be prepared from
day one when the first dosages of vaccine arrive.

We are preparing to offer vaccinations in accordance with the phased approach established
by the Georgia Department of Public Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Based on recent guidance, we will begin vaccinating public safety officers and employees
and students 65 years of age and older during the week of January 11. Beyond this
first phase, the timing and targeted recipients for future phases is still pending.

One of our top priorities will be to provide transparent and accurate information
throughout the vaccination phases. Please closely monitor your email and trust only
official KSU communications or information posted directly on the KSU COVID website. It is likely that a quick response time will be required in the early phases. We
ask that you resist any temptation to follow rumors that may arise. All up-to-date
information can be found on the KSU COVID website.

While you wait for your designated time for a vaccination, please keep in mind that
the pandemic has not slowed down. Continue to play offense against COVID by wearing
a mask, practicing social distancing, and frequently washing your hands. KSU will
continue to provide COVID testing and contact tracing for all students, faculty and
staff during the spring semester. Testing schedules for students, faculty and staff
can be found here.

This is an important time for KSU, Georgia, and our country. The vaccine offers us
all a reason for hope and optimism for the eventual end of this pandemic. It is so
important that we all receive a vaccine to protect ourselves individually, as well
as our KSU family as a whole. In the coming weeks, you will see many messages urging
us to cooperate together to "Protect the Nest." We have lived and worked through this
pandemic together and this vaccine will allow us to collectively leave it behind.
