KSU Student With Gun: Criminal Charges Filed

The student was arrested outside the Kennesaw State University dining hall on Wednesday, Aug. 29.

KENNESAW, GA — Criminal charges have been filed against a Kennesaw State University student who was discovered on campus with a loaded gun and who made strange comments that reportedly included threats to kill people.

Kenneth Alvin Glover has been charged with three counts of terroristic threats and one count of aggravated assault, KSU Police announced Thursday morning. Glover had been involuntarily committed for a mental evaluation after his arrest on Wednesday, Aug. 29.

An arrest warrant said Glover told police he thought about killing people, that he was Jesus and that he was "known to stack bodies." Police approached Glover outside the university's dining hall after receiving a call from his mother saying she was concerned about his well-being.

After making contact, police requested a university counselor to speak with him and stayed to monitor the situation. The things he said to the counselor led the counselor to commit him for evaluation, police said Thursday.

As police were preparing to transfer him, they say, the handgun was discovered in his backpack. An arrest warrant was issued that evening for possession of a firearm in a school zone.

The new charges came after Glover uploaded a video of his discussion with the counselor to social media. In it, police say, Glover "made threatening comments about several individuals."

"We are thankful to the student's mother for remaining vigilant," said KSU Police Chief Edward Stephens. "Her efforts were instrumental in our ability to act quickly and work to keep both the campus community and her son, safe."

Glover "remains under secure, medical evaluation," according to police. He will be transferred to the custody of law enforcement to face charges after his medical release, they say.
