Lice Clinics of America open Lousy Endings in West Cobb

Lousy Endings is in town to provide a safe, guaranteed, one time treatment option to treat and rid infestations of head lice.

MARIETTA, Ga., July 16, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Head lice infamously cause stress, disgust and embarrassment for millions of moms whose kids get infested each year. But thanks to the opening of Lousy Endings, moms and dads in the Kennesaw-Marietta area no longer have to worry about treating the icky bugs themselves.

Lousy Endings, which is part of the Lice Clinics of America network, provides screening, diagnosis and treatment options for people infested with head lice. The clinic is staffed by certified operators of the AirAllé device, an FDA-cleared medical device that kills head lice and lice eggs using just heated air.

The clinic is owned by Mary Hammock, a certified pediatric nurse practitioner who also owns a pediatric medical office in the area. Hammock had a growing concern about the toxicity of repeated and ineffective lice treatments. After learning about the AirAllé device at a pediatric medical conference, she decided to bring the non-toxic, effective treatment option to her community.

“Dealing with lice is a real hassle for parents,” said Hammock, who has authored several health-conscious children’s books. “I want them to know that we are here for them, to provide a fast, affordable, non-toxic alternative to dealing with the problem.”

Lousy Endings, which opened its doors June 8, is located at 3911 Mary Eliza Trace, Suite 250, in Marietta. It is conveniently located close to many elementary, middle and high schools. The clinic is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, and on weekends by appointment only. AirAllé treatments there take about an hour, and come with a 30-day guarantee.
