McCollum Field Receives First International Flight

Cobb County's airport now services planes from around the globe.

A private plane landed at Cobb County’s McCollum Field on Thursday and marked a new chapter in the airport’s history.

The plane had taken off from the Bahamas, making the plane the first international flight received in Cobb County, the Marietta Daily Journal reports. Businessman Thomas Huff came home on his private plane after a two-day trip to the island oasis.

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection facility opened on the premises Thursday. The facility will be open between 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday through Monday.
