Murder Suspect Arrested In Death Of Pregnant KSU Student
A man accused of killing a pregnant Kennesaw State student in a recent double shooting is facing feticide and murder charges, police say.
MONROE, GA — A man has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a pregnant Kennesaw State University student teacher and the shooting of another man this week in Monroe, police say.
The deadly shooting happened Sunday morning in the 100 block of G.W. Carver Drive, Monroe Police said Tuesday.
They added Teonia Stokes, a 22-year-old Social Circle woman who was 7 months pregnant, was found shot to death at the scene.

A man was found suffering from gunshot wounds, police said. His status was unknown Wednesday.
Several state and local authorities investigated the case, and ultimately, police said Dorreous Brooks, 36, on Tuesday was arrested without incident on charges of felony murder and feticide.

Walton County Jail records showed Brooks was originally arrested in Barrow County and was transferred to Walton on Wednesday. He was additionally arrested on a charge of probation violation and is being held without bond, jail records showed.
The shooting reportedly killed Stokes two days before her 23rd birthday, which came on Tuesday, her family told WXIA-TV. A motive was not revealed.
She had a 2-year-old daughter, was set to give birth to a baby boy in April and would have graduated with a teaching degree from KSU in a few months, the news outlet reported.
“So we were making funeral arrangements on her birthday ... on her birthday,” aunt Cal Durham told WXIA-TV.
Durham additionally told the outlet Stokes "was full of hope, she was full of life, she was full of promise" and "all she wanted on this earth was to be loved."
Those who knew her reportedly gathered at a recent vigil held in her hometown.
