Spring 2021: Discipline and Hope

Welcome to the Spring 2021 semester at Kennesaw State. For those of you returning,
welcome back, and for those of you who are new to the University, welcome to Owl Nation!

This semester, like the fall semester, will require that we hunker down and protect
one another through the final months of this pandemic. The health and safety protocols
that we employed last semester will continue. Everyone should wear a mask everywhere
on campus. Everyone should stay at least 6 feet apart – whether you are in a classroom,
in an office setting, or in line to pick up your coffee at Starbucks. Everyone should
have chronic dry hands, like I do, from washing them so much. If you feel ill, study
or work from home.

We will continue to provide convenient testing on our campuses for all faculty, staff
and students. We have invested in enormous inventories of COVID tests because we want
you to use them. People who know they have COVID are able to stay away from others
– both at school and in their personal lives.

All COVID protocols and practices must remain throughout this semester. However, things
are also different in 2021 as we start this new semester. Though faint, we can now
see the light at the end of the pandemic tunnel.

As announced last week, KSU is partnering with the Wellstar Health System to provide
on-campus vaccines for all faculty, staff and students at KSU. This will be a long
process that lasts throughout the spring semester, but it has begun. Please familiarize
yourself with COVID-19 safety protocol and vaccine updates by visiting the Coronavirus Information Website.

While we work to remain safe and prepare for the end of the pandemic, let’s remember
that this is the only Spring 2021 semester our students will have. We are committed
to making it the best experience possible in this time. KSU has planned more than
2,000 programs and activities this semester to enhance the college experience. All
activities will be hosted in accordance with safety protocols, so students can click here to see the list and get involved!

KSU’s Week of Welcome will get things started with events such as the Spring Bonfire;
a DIY Pillows event for you to grab your own KSU pillow; a Student Involvement Fair;
multiple Movie Nights; men's and women's basketball games; a Virtual Volunteer Fair;
Grocery Bingo; and much more. For more details about these and other Week of Welcome

And of course, the Kennesaw State football team will begin its sixth season of competition
this spring. In order to keep fans safe, Fifth Third Bank Stadium will be limited
to 20 percent capacity. This includes 400 student tickets which are available for
each home game and can be claimed for FREE starting the week of each contest. For

We understand these are unusual and challenging times, but our Owl Family is resilient.
I’m confident that as we return to campus this spring, we will continue to support
