KSU’s College of Continuing Education Offers Short-term Business and Management Programs

The certificate programs provide students with additional training to thrive in today's global economy

KSU’s College of Continuing of Continuing and Professional Education offers valuable educational opportunities for working professionals, adult learners and career changers. The business and management certificate programs at the college include Construction Project Management, Facility Management Professional, Supply Chain Management and Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis, among others. These short-term certificate programs provide students with additional training to thrive in today’s global economy. Currently, the college offers more than 50 certificate-based, professional training programs.

“The evolving job market requires lifelong learning,” said Continuing Education Dean Barbara Calhoun. “Investing in yourself is one of the best decisions you can make to stay in the forefront of the job market.”

The Construction Project Management Certificate Program combines the prestige of Southern Polytechnic State University’s construction management program with KSU’s award-winning College of Continuing and Professional Education. The certificate program is designed for individuals desiring to break into the rapidly growing field and for industry experienced professionals who want to enhance their resumes to advance in their careers. The team of instructors consists of Ph.D. and master’s-level professors with decades of experience who are actively involved in the continued growth and advancement of this industry.

Facility Management Professional is a classroom-based program from the International Facility Management Association (IFMA). IFMA’s FMP® is a knowledge-based credential for facility management professionals and industry suppliers looking to increase their depth of knowledge in the core facility management topics deemed critical by employers. This program is well suited for early to mid-career facility management practitioners, individuals who are transitioning into an FM career and students entering the profession from college, universities and technical programs.

The Supply Chain Management program is led by Benjamin Tolbert, an expert instructor who possesses more than a decade of relevant industry experience in information technology, operations and supply chain management. Course topics of study include supply chain overview, demand planning, transformation of demand and supply, supply, logistics, quality control, supply chain IT and supply chain globalization. Ideal candidates for this program include individuals with a background in manufacturing, retail, hospitality, military, project management and Lean Six Sigma.

The Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis Professional certificate helps individuals learn the best practices for analyzing trends, building forecasts and creating financial models. This program is designed to help prepare students for the Association for Financial Professionals’ (AFP) new certified Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis Professional credential exam.
