Van Crashes Through Kennesaw Restaurant, Killing One

Cobb County police expect charges to be filed against the van's driver.

One person inside a Kennesaw restaurant was killed when a van drove into the building on Barrett Parkway Friday afternoon.

According to Cobb County police, a white 2014 Chrysler Town and Country driven by Woodstock resident Carol Shipley, 67, attempted to park at the Buffalo Wild Wings at 125 Ernest Barrett Parkway at 4:30 p.m. but instead continued to drive over the curb and into the restaurant, then hitting several people inside.

Police say that 19-year-old William Barton of McDonough was rushed to WellStar Kennestone Hospital for critical injuries he received as a result of the collision, but was pronounced dead on arrival. 22-year-old Lindsey Terronez of Marietta was also taken to Kennestone Hospital and received treatment for non life-threatening injuries.

Cobb police expect to file charges against Shipley. Anyone with additional information on this collision is asked to contact police at (770) 499-3987.
