Weekend Pigskin Roundup: Mustangs Come Up Short in Comeback Attempt

Each week we'll take a look at what happened on the gridiron over the weekend in Kennesaw Patch.

Sprayberry 30, Kennesaw Mountain 28 – spotted Sprayberry 17 points in the first half before starting the comeback process Friday night. Mustangs quarterback Dalin Finley went 13-for-17 for 181 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 87 yards on 20 carries with another touchdown, but his four touchdowns fell just two points shy.

Fellowship Christian 35, North Cobb Christian 0 – Penalties kept North Cobb Christian off the scoreboard Friday as three scoring plays were taken off the board because of yellow flags, according to the Marietta Daily Journal.

Lassiter 56, North Cobb 35 – Lassiter’s three unanswered touchdowns in the third quarter were the key Friday night as the Trojans defense constricted and stopped giving up big plays to North Cobb, according to the Marietta Daily Journal. Freshman quarterback Tyler Queen was held to just two completed passes in the second half after a huge first half.

Harrison 15, Milton 12 – Milton scored a touchdown after a 14-play, 80-yard drive with 6:55 left in the game to take the lead over Harrison Friday, according to the Marietta Daily Journal. Instead of hanging his head, Chatham Carter took the ensuing kickoff 90 yards for the go-ahead score and eventually giving the Hawks a 15-12 win.
