11 Birds Safe, Residents Displaced In Gwinnett County House Fire

The cause of a house fire Wednesday at Kings Circle is unknown.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA β€” Eleven caged birds were rescued from a house fire Wednesday, according to Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services.

Crews were dispatched around 4 p.m. to the 2600 block of Kings Circle, where a back deck was on fire at a split-level house, the department said.

The fire had spread to the back of the house and was entering the home on the first floor before going into an attic, fire officials said.

The homeowner was asleep in the master bedroom. A resident was completing a project inside of the home when he heard loud cracking and popping noises, which triggered him to call first responders, fire officials said.

Everyone was able to safely escape the home, and no injuries were reported, fire officials said.

Three adults were displaced but declined assistance from the American Red Cross, fire officials said.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
