21 Arrested During Gwinnett's Operation One Star
Seven people considered wanted by police were among 21 people arrested during a joint operation in Gwinnett County, authorities say.
GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — Nearly two dozen people were arrested during a recent joint operation in Gwinnett County, authorities said Monday.
Oversaw by the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office, Operation One Star was conducted on May 7-8 for the purpose of minimizing crime, the department said.
During the operation, authorities said they conducted 106 "self-initiated encounters," resulting in 27 charges and the arrests of seven people wanted by police.

In total, 21 people were arrested, authorities said. Furthermore, they said they issued 45 citations, impounded five vehicles and recovered a stolen vehicle and eight guns.
Lawrenceville, Suwanee and Snellville police departments - as well as the Gwinnett County 911 Center - assisted with the operation, authorities said.

"The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office prioritizes public safety by addressing criminal activity while upholding the mission to serve and protect through dedication, professionalism, active cooperation with the community and respect for human dignity," authorities said in a news release.
