4 Family Members Killed In GA Shooting ID'ed

A murder suspect has been arrested in connection with the deaths of his wife and three relatives in a metro Atlanta shooting.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — The four adults who were found shot to death Friday morning in the 1000 block of Brook Ivy Court have been identified, Gwinnett County Police said.

The domestic-related shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. in Lawrenceville. Police said they responded after receiving reports of gunshots fired inside the home.

Prior to the shooting, police said 51-year-old resident Vijay Kumar had argued with his wife, 43-year-old Meemu Dogra, at their Atlanta home.

The couple and their 12-year-old child then traveled to their relatives' Brook Ivy home, police said.

Officers identified the relatives as Gourav Cumar, 33, Nidhi Chander, 37, and Harish Chander, 38. Additionally, two children ages 7 and 10 lived in the home, police said.

The three adult relatives, along with Dogra, were killed in the shooting, police said. The 12-year-old called 911, police said.

When officers arrived, police said they found the three uninjured children hiding in a closet.

Kumar was arrested on charges of four counts of aggravated assault, four counts of felony murder, four counts of malice murder, one count of first-degree cruelty to children and two counts of third-degree cruelty to children, police said.

A motive was not revealed.
