700 Smoke Detectors Donated to Gwinnett Fire Department
The donation, from Operation Save A Life, is worth about $15,000.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — Gwinnett County firefighters this week got some help with their annual push to get smoke detectors into people's homes.
Community-awareness program members of Operation Save A Life donated 700 long-life smoke detectors to the Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services at Tuesday's county commission meeting.
The donation is valued at $15,437.

Last month, fire officials installed and tested 2,850 smoke alarms as part of their 12 Days of Christmas fire safety initiative. They have installed more than 13,000 alarms since 2014.
