Active Shooter Training Planned by Gwinnett Sheriff
The March 24 class will offer tips on what to do if you're caught on the scene of a shooting.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA -- The Gwinnett County Sheriff's office has scheduled training sessions to help citizens prepare for an encounter with an active shooter.
Staff from the office will offer two classes on Thursday, March 24, at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center at 75 Langley Dr. in Lawrenceville.
The two-hour classes will be offered at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.

The training is modeled on a program from Texas State University and will include topics including the decision-making process under stress, tactics to survive an active-shooter event and how to cope in the aftermath of an event.
