Atlanta Man Gets Ejected From Car, Dies In Lawrenceville

Gwinnett police are searching for a silver or white SUV after they say a man was ejected from his car on Interstate 85.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — Gwinnett police are searching for a driver who may have fled the scene of a car crash, where a man died Tuesday on Interstate 85 south, according to a news release.

Earl Griffis IV, 40, of Atlanta, died when he was ejected from his Honda Accord around 3:30 p.m. north of the I-85 S Beaver Ruin exit, according to the Gwinnett Police Department.

Police say Griffis could have been ejected after his car hit a median wall during an accident with a silver or white SUV, which caused it to roll over. Police said the SUV continued traveling after the accident.

There is no indication of road rage, police said.

Gwinnet police are investigating the cause of the accident.
