Bank Robbery Suspect Identified

Fabiel Camacho-Pineda has ties to the Sur 13 street gang, police say.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA -- Police have identified a suspect in the December 8 attempted armed robbery of a Wells Fargo bank in Lawrenceville.

Fabiel Camacho-Pineda, 33, of Lawrenceville, has ties to California and the Sur 13 street gang, police said in a news release Monday.

They say he’s the man who attempted to rob the Wells Fargo at 3065 Lawrenceville Hwy., only to run away when a clerk sounded an alarm.

On December 8 at about 1 p.m., a man walked into the bank. He approached the front counter and handed the clerk a note, saying he had a gun and was robbing the bank.

As she looked at the note, the man told her in Spanish that he had a gun and to hurry up.

Instead, the teller activated the panic alarm and stood next to her drawer.

The suspect panicked, snatching a patron’s purse as he ran out the door.

An arrest warrant for Pineda has been obtained by police on an armed robbery charge.
