Bicyclist Killed in Downtown Lawrenceville Crash
No charges are expected in the case, police say.
LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — A Lawrenceville man riding his bicycle downtown was struck by a car and killed, according to police.
Shay Swords, 38, was riding at Maltbie Street, near McConnell Drive, at about 7 p.m. Friday when he was hit by Geneva Robinson, 21, of Lawrenceville, police say.
Robinson was driving a Nissan.

Swords was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.
Police say no charges are expected to be filed in the case.

According to the Gwinnett Daily Post, Swords was an event emcee for Epic Entertainment and Events Atlanta, a Suwanee-based company that does wedding receptions and other events.
