Blessings of Thankfulness
The more you thank life, the more life gives you to be thankful for. Give thanks, be happy. :)

As the holiday of thankfulness approaches, we will begin to prepare a feast, gather our family, and appreciate all that we have. Thanksgiving is a holiday that is practiced throughout a variety of faiths and cultures. This holiday brings us a message of gratitude that is not valued enough in today’s society. Unfortunately, as human beings, we are susceptible to covetousness. We tend to focus on what we don’t have. Giving thanks is simply an act of kindness that constantly reminds us of how much we really do have. In Islam particularly, gratitude is a part of our daily lives. The Holy Quran states, “And God will certainly reward the grateful” (3:145). As Muslims, we are given the opportunity to pray and give thanks to God five times a day.
The concept of thankfulness enables us to look outside ourselves. It helps us appreciate the simple things we don’t think about much, like breathing, walking, talking, hearing, and seeing. Above all, gratitude is a gift. It is a gift that has to be acknowledged, appreciated, and cherished every day of the year because like many other things in life, it has its rewards and blessings.
