I am pleased to announce great event organized by Bosnian Youth traditionally held at Georgia State Capitol in downtown Atlanta and is called Bosnian-American Day. This event is scheduled for March 1st 2022 because on that day we celebrate Bosnian Independence Day and Bosnian American friendship. March 1st is Bosnian public holiday. This event is great way to present our: culture, history, art, handcrafts and traditional costumes to our American friends. It is worth mentioning that Bosnian Youth is always well prepared with short cultural-educational program for all visitors. I can't forget mentioning hard working hands who always make delicious homemade cakes for all guests. First time visitors can read on the eye friendly, large paper boards about Bosnian achievements, learn about rich culture and hear great stories about successful Bosnian-Americans. Also, there are young people dressed in custom made traditional Bosnian costumes who draw particular attention.
These kinds of events remind us of importance of great friendship and close ties between two countries. Bosnian American Day is bridge to better world and it promotes international peace. We are also showing respect and appreciation for both worlds. At the end of this wonderful gathering we usually take on big, memorable photo right in the hallway of Georgia State Capitol building.
Bosnian American Day reminds us also of importance of our bilingual skills.
With this said I would like to share a great quote: "The new language opens the door to best jobs. The old language allows you to keep sense of who you are. It preserves your identity. With two languages you have the best of both worlds."
Once again, big thanks to Bosnian Youth for successful organizational skills, education and knowledge for presenting our rich culture to our friends. Also thanks to our American friends on successful cooperation and great welcoming.
