Brush Fires Burn Near Interstate 85 and Ga. 316
It took firefighters an hour to bring the multiple blazes under control.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — Brush fires burning along Interstate 85 and Ga. 316 Monday afternoon were finally under control, fire officials announced.
Firefighters responded at about 11:54 a.m. to what was believed to be 3-5 separate grass fires, with two of them merging to form one large burning area.
The fires had scorched the grass along the Ga. 316 access road between Boggs Road and Highway 120.

Fire trucks responded to the location of a fire that was threatening vehicles at a Subaru dealership, located at 2920 Satellite Blvd. in Duluth. A few vehicles reportedly sustained cosmetic damage due to the heat, but there were no injuries reported.
It took firefighters about an hour to bring the fires under control. They remained at the scene later Monday afternoon dousing hot spots.

The bridge and access road were closed as of 3 p.m.
The exact cause of the fires remained undetermined Monday afternoon.
