Business Fire Blocks Highway In Lawrenceville
A neighbor reported smoke coming from the window of a tax preparer's office in Lawrenceville Tuesday morning.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — A business fire Tuesday morning in Lawrenceville caused damage to a tax preparer's office while temporarily blocking southbound traffic on Lawrenceville Highway.
Firefighters responded at 10:17 a.m. to a report of a fire in the 3100 block of Lawrenceville Highway near James Road. The caller was from a neighboring business and reported smoke coming from the office.
Crews found smoke showing from the roof of a wood-framed office building. The business was closed at the time and firefighters had to force their way inside. Crews pulled ceiling material and were able to quickly extinguish a fire in the attic.

There was no one in the business at the time and no injuries were reported. Fire investigators say the fire appeared accidental and originated from an electrical source.
The southbound lanes of Highway 29 were temporarily blocked by fire equipment during the fighting of the blaze.
