Candlelight Vigil For Homicide Victims Set For Thursday
The father of murder victim Nique Leili will be among the speakers at the event.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — A candlelight vigil for Gwinnett County victims of homicide has been set for Thursday.
The annual vigil is sponsored by the Gwinnett County District Attorney's office Victim Witness Program. It will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center in Lawrenceville.
The event is designed to remember those who have been lost due to homicide or vehicular homicide during the past year.

This year's speakers will be District Attorney Danny Porter, state Sen. Renee Unterman, Doug Chatham and Criminal Justice Coordinating Council executive director Jay Neal.
Chatham is the father of Nique Chatham Leili, who was murdered by her husband, Matthew, in 2011. Matthew was convicted of the crime in February.

On display at the event will be four Crime Victim Remembrance Trees, as well as trees decorated by the Georgia Criminal Justice Coordinating Council, Department of Juvenile Justice, Safe Kids Gwinnett and other groups.
Representatives from the CJCC and Department of Juvenile Justice will be on hand at the vigil to answer questions from anyone in attendance.
